Hi!
Happy Deepavali to those who even care about the Hindu festival of lights. I do, and that's why I got two text messages wishing me a happy Diwali. But anyway, I got onto the computer so late because we were actually
celebrating Deepavali. We spent two hours at my grandmother's house, and not one of those two included lighting oil lamps and drawing nice
rangoli on the floor. No. More like a, the-children-can-just-sit-down-and-watch-telly-while-the-adults-catch-up-with-one-another-and-stuff. Reason being, we're not Hindu. We're
Sikh. I know we're still Indian, of course. That's why we celebrate Diwali! I also know that "Hindu" is derived from the Persian word
Hind, meaning Indian, thank you very much. Oh yeah, and I had a massive quarrel with Gladys yesterday, and it's none of your business why. I still don't forgive her at all, I still don't know why I tried to salvage our friendship by lying to her that I forgave her, and she still said I should blame
myself for something that was entirely
her fault. Lorraine told me what I should do, but I dunno. Now I am aware that I've used italics in this post about eighteen thousand times.
Or seven! Not including the "Or".
